Lottery presses play on MiM Music programme

Updated: Feb 18

2019 was a year when MiM grew legs and learned to walk. MiM Music is now ready to run! Our MiM Music programme has received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund. Shondra Riley, MiM Music Promoter, has planned an extensive programme that includes a Pop Up Choir run by a local celebrated musician, family-friendly music events, and free music tasters & workshops. A community consultation is currently being run via a music survey.

For the Made in Midlothian launch event in June 2019, musical entertainment was programmed by Shondra Riley, also known as Miss Sugar Lady DJ, who lives in Midlothian. The MiM stage featured local artists across generations. The music was well received by the community and the feedback was to have more Made in Midlothian Music events featuring local musicians and DJs.

After this, it was clear that MiM Music's 2020 mission would be to give members of the community a chance to enjoy and explore music in a friendly, safe environment and to plan events that bring people together to showcase the musical talent in Midlothian.

Shondra is now teaming up with local musicians, educators and businesses to implement the programme over the course of the year.
